AIB provides a large number of doctoral travel stipends each year for PhD candidates attending the annual AIB conference. These travel stipends allow students with limited travel funds the opportunity to participate in a high-profile international research conference, present their research, and gather feedback from renowned scholars. In addition, the conferences provide invaluable networking and learning opportunities for these students.
The travel stipend program is competitive, and typically requires the participants to either attend a pre-conference workshop and/or to present their work during the conference.
Each student selected for the stipend receives a free conference registration and have their lodging covered for a pre-specified number of nights.
These stipends are only possible through generous donations from AIB members. AIB is incorporated as a non-profit in the US, and is designated as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Donations to AIB for the travel stipend program are tax deductible in the United States and certain other countries.
For any questions regarding the doctoral travel stipend program or donating to AIB, please contact the AIB Executive Secretariat.
General Donations to AIB may be used for a wide variety of charitable purposes: student scholarships, faculty fellowships, research grants, travel grants, doctoral dissertation grants, and publications subsidies, with emphasis placed upon the funding of projects which would advance the cause of international business. Consistent with this purpose would be subsidies for research and publications relating to the teaching of international business and the internationalization of the business school curriculum. The Executive Board solicits inquiries and proposals for funding consonant with this overall sense of direction.
AIB accepts bequests from the estates of members and others who desire to make such contributions. Generally, smaller contributions would be made directly to AIB for inclusion into its regular charitable budget. Larger donations may be made to establish named funds to memorialize an individual or organization, with the proceeds of the fund to be used in perpetuity for designated purposes.
