Research and publishing in scholarly journals are vital to growth, development, and success in academia. This masterclass focuses on developing and preparing manuscripts for submission to scholarly journals. It will highlight issues emphasized by editors and reviewers that tend to undermine manuscript success. The goal is to prepare and polish research papers to optimize prospects for publication and to maximize scholarly impact. The class will give particular attention to preparing manuscripts, including the various components. The session will be interactive, to allow for Q&A and audience interaction.

This Teaching Café will introduce and combine future studies methodology with sustainable management elements in higher education. By going beyond the introduction of the core elements of future studies and the criticism of the current status quo of various business sectors towards sustainable development, participants can experience selected exercises to get a glimpse of the (inter)active and experiential learning nature of this topic. Also, this session will open the discussion about how to incorporate those exercises through IB topics such as sustainability, maritime supply chains, and international procurement, among others, as well as will share resources for participants to apply them into their courses.

This class will highlight fundamental issues in the revision and resubmission process including the role of the editor and reviewers, responding to editor and reviewer comments, and developing the response document along with the revised manuscript. The session will be interactive, to allow for Q&A and audience interaction.

Teaching Café: Future Studies for Sustainability: a New Approach to Management Education (Session# 222139)

This Teaching Café will introduce and combine future studies methodology with sustainable management elements in higher education. By going beyond the introduction of the core elements of future studies and the criticism of the current status quo of various business sectors towards sustainable development, participants can experience selected exercises to get a glimpse of the (inter)active and experiential learning nature of this topic. Also, this session will open the discussion about how to incorporate those exercises through IB topics such as sustainability, maritime supply chains, and international procurement, among others, as well as will share resources for participants to apply them into their courses.
The Teaching Cafés are organized by AIB's Teaching & Education Shared Interest Group.

AIB Awards Ceremony and Business Meeting (Session# 221542)


The session will start with the announcement of the winners for the various conference awards including the Buckley and Casson Dissertation Award, AIB/Temple Best Paper Award, the Rugman Most Promising Scholar Award, and the AIB/FIU Best Theory Paper Award.

The business meeting will follow, featuring a review of the state of AIB, JIBS, JIBP, and AIB Insights. It will also feature a presentation for the 2023 AIB Meeting.

The floor will then be open for questions and comments from the membership.
